The Rose Awards Logo

The Rose Awards were created by the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau more than 20 years ago, to recognize those businesses and individuals in the hospitality industry who go above and beyond to create a positive experience for their guests. By honoring those who provide outstanding service, the awards celebrate their achievements and encourage others to strive for excellence in the Metro Detroit community. Hospitality is a key component of the tourism industry which contributes significantly to the local economy. In fact, the hospitality industry in metro Detroit generates nearly $6.6 billion in economic activity every year and supports over 60,000 jobs.

We are so proud that two of Golden Limousine’s outstanding team members are among the finalists for this year’s Rose Awards. James Jordan and Shari Faulhaber have worked hard to provide outstanding service to our clients and have been recognized for going over and above. Read their amazing stories:

James Jordan

On May 25th, James blew the Golden community away with his response to an extremely difficult situation. While he was driving in Ann Arbor with passengers in his vehicle, he saw a woman being beaten by a man. There were several people recording the violence on their phones, none of whom were doing anything to stop it. Without a second thought, James stopped his vehicle, told his passengers to call 911, and confronted the aggressor by himself.

Thinking on his feet and acting without any concern for his own safety, he was able to stop the violence and physically restrain the man until the authorities arrived. His passengers greeted his return with a round of applause. On top of being a bona fide hero, James is known for reliably completing his trips with an excellent attitude, and he is in the process of taking on additional responsibilities. Suffice it to say, he has the gratitude of more than a few people, and he is an incredible asset, both to Golden and to his community as a whole.

Shari Faulhaber

Recently, Shari was driving on a quiet street with very little traffic, and she saw a car pulled over. She stopped to see if the passengers were alright, and a woman flung the door open begging for help, saying that her husband was dying. The woman’s phone was not working and she could not call 911. The man was unconscious and having convulsions. Shari has first aid and CPR training, and she keeps a first responder kit in her vehicle.

She was able to get 911 on the phone and keep the man as stable as possible until paramedics could take over his care. She followed his wife to the hospital and stayed with her so she would not be alone. Shari has stayed in touch with the couple, and the man eventually recovered enough to return home. He had a very grim prognosis and very well could have lost his life that day if not for Shari’s assistance. This was not the only time Shari assisted someone during a medical event, and she credits Golden with her people-centered outlook, saying “Golden taught me to look up and outward.” Though of course, we at Golden give all of the credit to her!
